I’m not sure why you’re here, or how you got here, but I’m pleased you made it.

My name is Jamie Adams. I was born in Scarborough, a small seaside town on the north east coast of the UK – and now live in Hull, a small city perched on the banks of the River Humber. I live here with my wife, our two children, and a motley collection of pets.

I’ve been on the internet since the days of dial-up modems, BBS, and xxx. I couldn’t put a precise date on it, but 1996 sounds about right. This site contains contains most of the stuff that I have published on one site or another since 2005. A lot has been lost over the years and we should probably be thankful for that.

Why blog?

The internet democratised publishing. Before the multinational conglomerates cam along it was lead by people like you and me, sat at home reading, writing and sharing. Arguably it important than now than ever that people have ownership of their own content, but there doesn’t have to be a reason for having a blog. It’s a place where I can write and you can read. That’s enough of a reason for me.
